Germany will allow the entry of foreign employees to fill staff scarcities at the German airports as a momentary service, Bild am Sonntag reported on Sunday, mentioning the interior, transport and labour ministers.
Airport operators throughout Europe, consisting of Germany, have been battling with staff lacks to handle the circulation of passengers as need for travel bounces back with completion of most Covid-19 limitations.
Pictures of visitors waiting in long lines at security check points at Duesseldorf airport previously this week revealed the scale of the shortage which has triggered chaos during the holiday.
The Interior, Labour and Transportation ministries will begin a joint campaign for bringing temporary foreign workers to operate at German airports, Bild said, adding that there was a shortage around 2,000 to 3,000 employees at the airports.
The project aims to bring a four-digit variety of knowledgeable workers from Turkey to Germany, who could be released for a couple of months from July.
Labour Minister Hubertus Heil said companies must pay cumulative salaries and offer decent lodging for a restricted time.
“We wish to rule out any type of social dumping and exploitation,” Heil was quoted as stating by Bild.
