The airline company market has been concentrated on the rate of oil the last few weeks. It appears that a crisis has been averted, however there’s no assurance of smooth sailing for the foreseeable future.

Russia’s intrusion of Ukraine at first sent out oil markets into a spiral. Rates might have come back down to earth, but oil stays unstable. Yet, U.S. airline company executives aren’t extremely worried. More pressing is how to work with sufficient pilots to run flights. Airline company Weekly’s Edward “Ned” Russell and Madhu Unnikrishnan report on what they found out at a current market conference and talk about which airline companies prepare to add or cut capability this summer season.
